When is the best time for a maternity session?

Every pregnancy is different however in general maternity sessions are best done between 32 to 36 weeks of pregnancy or earlier if you are carrying multiples. You want your belly to be well defined, but still comfortable. Upon booking, we can discuss your pregnancy and work out what suits best.

I'm not sure I feel comfortable having a maternity photography session?

This is a common feeling among mothers and having been there myself I completely understand your uneasiness. Mums-to-be have appreciated my ability to make them feel comfortable and my flexibility to work around their needs and personal requests. Some mothers like to show bare skin whereas others don't - it's totally up to you. As your photographer I'm here to guide you and ensure your comfort at all times.

Where do maternity sessions take place?

I offer either studio style photography in your home or natural light outdoor photography at a location of your choice (I am more than happy to offer some recommendations). In home maternity photography works well for an intimate and cozy feel.

Can partners and other siblings join in?

Absolutely. Partners and other children are encouraged to join in your maternity session. It is a lovely way to capture your family before your little ones arrival.

What to wear to your maternity photography session?

Obviously the choice is yours as the most important thing is your comfort. Wrap and maxi style dresses work well in plain colours. Patterns should be simple and heavy logos or slogans avoided.
